There Was Brian.
Before the Memorial, tournaments, scholarships, BCM Sports, the sports-complex project or the research that followed, there was Brian Allen Crawford.
Brian grew up surrounded by family, friends, sports and music. Baseball and #13 became enduring symbols of his memory, but they tell only part of his story. Brian played basketball, participated in martial arts, performed with the Prague High School band, played guitar and recorded music of his own.
This website preserves Brian's life first—and then tells the story of what grew from his memory.

Looking Forward
The day before Brian's accident was a day centered on music and his future.
According to family recollection, Brian attended a university music audition on April 26, performing on the baritone while his mother accompanied him on piano. Brian was awarded a music scholarship following the audition.
That evening, Brian returned home and played guitar in his bedroom while his father studied for college finals in the office next door.

A Life Remembered
Brian's death changed the lives of his family, friends, teammates, classmates and community.
The Memorial archive preserves the contemporary news report, funeral announcement, Memorial Service, community tributes and other records from 2005. The purpose of preserving them is not to define Brian by the day he died, but to document how the people who knew him responded to the loss of someone they loved.
After 2005
His Life Ended. His Legacy Continued.
What began as remembrance grew into fundraising, scholarships, tournaments, sports programs, a sports-complex vision and eventually a broader historical and research record.

The Memorial Begins
Early Fundraising
Memorial necklaces and bracelets were among the early grassroots fundraising efforts created in Brian's memory—and remain available today.
Memorial Tournament
The annual baseball tournament became one of the Memorial's defining traditions and later helped form the bridge into BCM Sports.
Remembering Brian
Physical memorials, community projects and preserved artifacts became part of the continuing effort to keep Brian's story visible.
Continuing Opportunity
Brian Crawford Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship program carries Brian's name forward by investing in young people.
The Memorial is rebuilding its historical recipient archive. An updated recipient list by name and year has been requested from the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma and will be incorporated once confirmed.
