Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex
A memorial tournament became a fundraising mission. The mission became a partnership. The partnership became a permanent athletic complex carrying Brian's name.
Located in Seminole, Oklahoma, the Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex represents one of the largest physical expressions of the Memorial's history: seven fields serving collegiate, youth and adaptive sports, built through years of fundraising and community partnerships.

A memorial mission transformed into a permanent community athletic facility.
A permanent place carrying Brian's name.
For years, the Brian Crawford Memorial Tournament gave the family and community a recurring way to remember Brian through baseball. Over time, the larger goal became creating a permanent baseball complex in his honor.
The project history preserved in the archive describes more than twelve years of Memorial tournament activity and fundraising leading into the sports-complex effort. The Brian Crawford Memorial Foundation committed a $500,000 lead gift to the Seminole State College Educational Foundation project, launching a new phase of fundraising for what became the Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex.
The partnership brought together the Brian Crawford Memorial, Seminole State College Educational Foundation, Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation and community donors around a larger multi-field vision.

Before the gates opened, the operating questions were already being asked.
The Baseball Heaven historical case study Before the Gates Opened preserves two contemporaneous presentations recorded near the complex's transition into operational use. The presentations examined possible governance structures, user groups, field fees, concessions, tournament economics, economic impact, utilization, technology and documentation.
Those presentations are planning records. They document options and questions being considered in 2021; they are not presented as proof that Seminole State College Educational Foundation ultimately adopted any particular operating model.
The complex is both a legacy site and a research subject.
On BrianCrawfordMemorial.com, this page preserves the human and institutional history of how the sports complex came to carry Brian's name. Baseball Heaven holds the deeper research record: pre-opening planning, facility activity, governance questions and the later study of how youth-sports facilities function.

When a Memorial Became a Mission
The broader story connecting the Memorial Tournament, facility relationships, Seminole and the research mission that followed.
The name remains. The facility continues.
The Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex is not simply a historical project. Seminole State College currently describes it as an operating seven-field complex used for Trojan baseball and soccer, youth tournaments and adaptive play.
The Memorial archive preserves how the project came to exist. Current schedules, rentals, rules and operating information belong with the institution responsible for the facility today.
The complex was a destination. It was also the beginning of another chapter.
The years spent fundraising, operating tournaments, working with public and nonprofit facilities, and planning for the Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex later became part of the foundation for the Baseball Heaven research project. The memorial story and the research story are connected, but they serve different purposes.
