Brian Crawford Memorial Field
A hometown field named for Brian became another permanent place where his life, #13 and love of baseball could remain part of the community that knew him.
At Prague's youth sports facility, the memorial moved from recognition to investment: the field was named for Brian, the Crawford family funded an artificial-turf infield through the City of Prague, and a second memorial statue created another lasting connection between Brian and his hometown.

Brian attended school in Prague throughout his life. Years after his death, Prague's youth sports community contacted the Crawford family about naming a field in his memory.
According to Kenneth Crawford's first-person historical account, the family was ecstatic about the opportunity. After the naming was established, the family asked whether it could go further and donate an artificial-turf infield playing surface. The donation was made through the City of Prague.
Kenneth has described the project as coming full circle. An earlier effort to have the Prague High School baseball field named for Brian had not moved forward. Years later, a youth baseball field in Brian's hometown would carry his name and receive a substantial permanent investment from the Memorial.

The field became more than a name on a sign.
Prague's youth sports facility reached out to the family.
Kenneth Crawford's later recollection records that the Prague youth sports facility contacted the family about naming a field after Brian. The family welcomed the opportunity.
